Answered Prayer

Last Wednesday nearing the end of my easy 2 mile run, a pain began bothering me on the outside of my left foot. I finished the run thinking that I just did not stretch enough and needed to really stretch after. I got off the treadmill and could barely walk and the pain began to intensify. Thursday I went to my doctor; he took x-rays looking for a fracture but couldn't find anything to explain the pain. He then told me I had a condition called plantar's fasciitis and needed to be off my feet for 4-7 days, showed me some stretches to do, and gave me a prescription for pain meds.

Though I did the stretches the doctor recommended I couldn't shake the feeling that was not what was wrong with my foot. I found a condition called cuboid syndrome which happens when the cuboid bone moves and gets trapped under the bone beside it. It was in the exact location the pain was, its common in runners and normally happens after a person rolls their ankle (which I had done 3 weeks earlier). Wade and I really felt this is what had happened to my foot. The biggest problem was trying to find a chiropractor or physical therapist who could pop that bone back in place.

I was on crutches for 3 days and then gave them up because the pain became bearable. AND crutches and chasing a two-year-old just don't mix.

Fast forward to Tuesday. I had Bible study in the afternoon and I told the ladies about my foot and asked them to pray for healing and wisdom to know what chiropractor to see. That was around 6pm. At 8:30pm, as I was walking through Waylon's room, I felt a pop in my foot. The bone popped itself back into place. It never should have done that! I feel so blessed that the Almighty Healer decided to touch my foot and make me well. Praise God, for He is good!

Easter Fun

Grandma Kathy had another Easter party this year for all the cousins. All the cousins were there except two and we missed them dearly. Waylon ran around saying, "I pay with my coushins." He enjoyed having them all together to play with.
First off, Grandma had a dozen eggs for each child to dye. Waylon loved to see what each egg would look like but he wasn't terribly careful with the eggs and just threw them into the dye most of the time.

Then it was time for the egg hunt. All the kids stayed in the basement while the dad's hid the eggs.

Here's everybody...Tana, Abby, Emma, Boo, Beka, Bug, Micah, and Waylon.

Tradition

Waylon is a 4th generation WGF. His initials match his daddy's, papa's, and great-grandpa's. While grandma was at our house during spring break she taught him to say his full name. It's quite cute.

Feed the birds

So I am deathly afraid of birds...so terrified in fact that a pigeon had me in tears the last time we were in Seattle. This may come as a surprise to most; my husband didn't even know the extent of my fear until recently. I try to keep this little known fact a secret because it's like Chandler not liking dogs and Ross not liking ice cream-it's completely silly and just "un-American". Well God has a sense of humor, as we all well know, and He's definitely laughing because Waylon's newest favorite things are birds. The nasty, dirty, swooping, pooping things. The things that make my heart beat 500 times faster and dive under the cover of the porch.

But, because I love my son so much, I have found myself cleaning out 2 of our bird houses so new families could move in and torture me. We also bought a bird feeder and food for them and Wade so kindly put them up yesterday chuckling all the whole merry time while I was hiding behind Waylon.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, I decided Waylon and I neeed to have a wacky breakfast.

I'm pretty darn proud of myself for coming up with this so quickly. AND for not copying it from Pinterest. I just thought it up with my plain old brain :)...yogurt and grape Cat in the Hats, complete with bow tie.

I couldn't actually bring myself to make green eggs because Waylon doesn't like them and I'm pretty sure I would have a hard time making myself eat green eggs...so instead Waylon opted for green pancakes.

Then of course we had to settle down and read some of our favorite author.

Thank you, Dr. Seuss, for encouraging children to use their imagination. And for making it near impossible to read Fox in Sox (if you've never read it and you're curious, I would suggest doing it only after several caffinated beverages).

Shoppin'

Our grocery store in town has this adorable little cart. There's only one and its very rare that its not in commission. Well, Saturday was Waylon's lucky day. Wade wasn't feeling good so Waylon and I had time to kill trying to get him some peace and quiet.

Since He's Been Two

I can't say that Waylon has had a ton of fun since turning two. He has been sick for a week. On Thursday last week we went to have lunch with Wade and he threw up all over Daddy's office (lovely). He's been throwing up off and on since to the point that we're taking him to the doctor tomorrow.

There's been a lot of this...

And a day worth of this...
I hate feeling helpless like I have the last couple of days. Every time I think he's getting better he throws up. We're both running low on clothes because everyday we go through at least two outfits. The dishes are piled high because I just want to sit and cuddle him and do nothing else. My friend Liv's words of wisdom, "The dishes will be there tomorrow."
